Our cat Miah died a little over a year ago shortly after my mom died. Katie was a hurt little girl. She missed Miah so much and still does and talks about her often. At the one year mark we decided to get another cat and that has been a wonderful decision. Katie helps to take care of her by feeding her and giving her water. She pushes her around in the stroller. She even terrorizes the cat (Bella) sometimes. While some cats are very loving and some of stand offish, I will have to say that Bella is the most loving cat I have ever met. She loves her Katie bug. She will sneak into Katie's room when we are putting Katie to bed and we never see her enter. Later we go looking for Bella only to find her fast asleep along with Katie. I have taken a few (tons actually) photos of them together.
I knew that when Katie asked for a "Princess Party" I wanted to do it right. Originally she wanted Spider Man until she saw the Princess cake at Publix.
Once she said she wanted a Princess party my brain went into overdrive. I turned her high chair into a throne and our padded coffee table into a carriage. I decided to make her cake and just buy the kit from Publix. I decorated the kitchen, the living room and the dining room (which we use as a library). In the dining room I put the messy projects so markers, makeup, etc would not get on the carpet. There was a color the castle, a pink vanity with makeup and a decorate your own tiara or crown. I also made "Princess/Prince" sashes. Instead of goody bags the girls were given jewels from the dollar store and the boys were given blow up swords. For snacks there were ring pops, candy jewelry, pastel candy and a few healthy/semi-healthy things such as a fruit tray and chicken fingers. I have to give credit to my friend Jessica Villemain of Jessica V Photography for taking most of the photos. My friend Paige fixed mine and Katie's hair. I am sorry for the zig zag of photos below as I was still trying to figure out how to load multiple photos at one time.
The photo that I really would have liked to enter I have used before as another entry, My daughter has the biggest brown eyes I have ever seen. This one is of her styling her sunglasses but you can still see those big brown eyes. Click on the link below to see great "Eyes" photos.
